Learn Photoshop — You’ll Thank Me
Seriously. I know I’ve talked before about how worthwhile it is for a freelance writer to be able to take decent quality digital photos. It will increase your income immediately.
There are plenty of times, though, that you’ll need to fix a photo. At the very least, you may need to crop a photo to a specific size. Adobe Photoshop is sort of the standard software for this sort of thing.
Now, I know Photoshop is expensive, and there are alternatives that are cheaper. GIMP is actually available as a free download, and has many of the same features. It’s a little harder to learn, but can do just about all the things that you’ll need.
In the end, though, knowing how to edit your own photos will do nothing but improve your freelance business.
