Correct bibliographical information is always good. Just because something is in the public domain doesn't mean that a writer using that material is free from issues of plagiarism. Good citation is the best defense against such issues.

Elrena, I think it's probably best for covering one's a$$, to cite as fully as possible. If you can find the correct bibliographical information that is. If you can't, then PD would be the only and best thing to do, but otherwise, I say, give credit where credit is due. (No rhyme intended.)

So does this mean to correctly cite something in the Public Domain, writers should still say who originally authored the work and not just "Public Domain?"

Interesting!
