This morning, I got a chance to look over the report on Freelance Switch’s survey of over 3700 freelancers. We are talking about 56 pages of very interesting information on all aspects of freelancing. I do wish a few more freelance writers had answered the survey — the results are weighted towards freelance designers — but I think the information remains relevant to writers, as well.
- 24% of the respondents have never held a ‘real job’ — they’ve always been out on their own.
- Writers are earning (on average) $44 an hour.
- 81% of respondents were male.

$44 an hour ain’t bad:)…..specially if you dont spend in dollars but a weaker currency!
