Doubling up your income, when you can

Some of you all have books out there, available through sites like Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc. You get your royalty check every so often, and that’s nice, but is there any other way to make money off that book?

Conventional wisdom says that the only thing that you can do is promote your book and push for other people to buy it, therefore increasing your royalties. But there are ways to benefit even more.

If you have a book out, you better have a website. I can’t think of a single reason to not set one up. And if you have a website, you can set up an affiliate account with sites like Amazon. For the Amazon Associates program, you can link to any product available on Amazon (such as your book) and get a small percentage of the price is someone clicks on your link and buys the product. You can also link to products that you didn’t write and make money, such as directing readers towards books you’re currently reading.
