I’ve been using TextExpander for a few years now. I don’t use it particularly efficiently: I have quite a few shortcuts that expand into domain names and other text I use a lot, but I’ve seen people use it far more efficiently.
Just the same, I’d say it’s been useful for me. I came across the TextExpander statistics tool, which tells me that (at least on my current laptop), the software has done the following for me:
- expanded 12,054 snippets
- saved me from typing 313,310 characters
- saved me 10.44 hours
Those seem like fairly impressive numbers, even spread out over a few years, for something that I generally don’t even think about when I’m using.
